Orna's Story
Orna Palenca, the founder and owner of Organi, began her journey as a cosmetician at the age of 48 with the goal of developing a unique line of skincare products.
Ancient traditions of medicinal plants exist across the globe. Persian Judaism developed its own rich tradition of plant-based healing, passed down from generation to generation and from family to family. One such family is Orna’s family—the founder of Organi—which immigrated to Israel from Persia in 1948.
Orna learned the principles of herbal medicine from her grandmother, mother, and aunts. She vividly remembers how they infused plant oils to relieve muscle pain, strengthen the pelvic floor, reduce wrinkles around the eyes, and improve eyesight. She spent hours watching them stir seeds, dried fruits, nuts, plants, and leaves over a small burner.
Orna’s mother had many traditional remedies to reduce pain and ease the body during illness. These included chamomile infusions, eucalyptus decoctions, pumpkin seeds for nausea, field coriander (Eryngium) for chronic sore throats, and more.
Most of Organi’s cosmetic treatments are based on serums formulated from medicinal plants. Organi’s first product line included a treatment kit designed to address acne by neutralizing its root cause deep within the skin layers. The success of this kit led to the development of an additional skincare line focused on skin rejuvenation and slowing the signs of aging, named ORSONG, based on a complex of chickpea, kalanchoe, and chia extracts.
